What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They can be "persistent" (remaining until deleted or expired) or "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser).

Types of Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary

kachi_consent — A first-party cookie recording your cookie choices, so that both this site and our content delivery network act on the same decision. Max-Age of 1 year.

Browser Storage (not a cookie)

kachi_cookie_consent — Your cookie choices are also kept in your browser's localStorage under this name. This is browser storage rather than a cookie, so it is never transmitted with requests, and it has no built-in expiry; our code treats a choice older than 12 months as lapsed and asks you again.

Analytics Cookies

These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. All information is aggregated and anonymous.

Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*, _gid) — Measures site traffic and user behaviour in aggregate. The Google Analytics tag is not loaded, and no data is sent to Google, unless you consent to analytics. Expires after up to 2 years.
kachi_vid — A first-party cookie holding a randomly generated visitor identifier, used to distinguish repeat visits in our own traffic analytics. It is set by our content delivery network at the network edge, and only once you have consented to analytics. If you decline, or before you have answered the banner, it is not set at all; if you later withdraw consent, it is actively expired on your next request. It is marked HttpOnly, so it is not readable by JavaScript in your browser — including by third-party cookie scanners, which may therefore report it as unidentified. Max-Age of 1 year.

Third-Party Cookies

We use Google Analytics (operated by Google LLC). Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more information. We do not use advertising cookies, social-media tracking pixels, or retargeting cookies.

This site is delivered through Cloudflare, which acts as our content delivery network and sets the kachi_vid cookie described above on our behalf. That cookie is first-party to kachi.ai and is not shared with Cloudflare's other customers.
